The SMS library is completely automated facility with 7,956 individual titles. Classroom sets of books boost our total to 13,667. the electronic card catalog can be assessed by any computer in the building or even an at home 
computer. Students check out books using their ID cards or number. Research in the library can be done using books or the computers. A total of 16 computers are available for students. New titles, both fiction and non-fiction, are added to the shelves regularly.

Bar coding all library books is almost complete. The barcode is on all Hard cover books. Automated check out will begin shortly for paperback.

Students must have their IDs or assignment books to check out books.

Students can have access to the electric card catalog in the library using a computer and the SMS library web page.

the 8th grade horticultural class has placed plants of various sizes in the library. The students water and care for the plants.
Books that are returned late will have a book fine of $.10 per day.
